Account and Data Deletion
Last updated: August 10, 2026
This page explains how to delete your Ether account and the data associated with it, whether or not you still have the app installed.
Option 1: Delete from within the app
If you have Ether installed, this is the fastest way and takes effect immediately:
Open Ether → Profile → Settings → Delete account → confirm.
Deletion happens right away and cannot be undone. There is no waiting period and no need to contact support.
Option 2: Request deletion without the app installed
If you no longer have the app installed, or can't sign in, email connect@joinether.co from the email address on your account, or include the phone number you signed up with, and ask us to delete your account.
We may ask you to verify your identity before completing the request, to make sure we don't delete the wrong account.
We process email deletion requests within 30 days.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your profile (name, phone number, email, date of birth, profile photo)
- Your ride history, routes, and saved places
- Your circle and group memberships
- Your emergency contacts
- Your device and push notification tokens
If you are the sole administrator of a circle with other members, deleting your account promotes another member to admin so the circle keeps working for everyone else in it.
What may be retained
Some information may be kept after deletion, consistent with our Privacy Policy:
- Aggregated route safety signals with your identity removed, used to improve route recommendations for the community
- Payment or transaction records required for tax, accounting, or app store compliance
- Information we are legally required to retain, or that is needed to investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents
None of this retained information can be used to identify you or contacted again.
